My name is Cody M, my last name will remain initials only because I do not want to release it. My main hobby is gaming, I am a hardcore PC gamers with a FPS preference, I also enjoy RTS, and RPG’s. A well polished game that skill is generally required peaks my interest, that’s what I enjoy League of Legends and that genre as well. I have favorite next generation, and retro games. The most recent game that has sucked the life out of me is Call of Duty 4, the retro game that had me playing hours on hours is believe it or not Hot Wheels for the N64, as well as Goldeneye 64, all though I didn’t own it, I had to go over to a friends to play it, it’s definitely one of the more memorable games of my child hood.

I own a PS3, all though I barely play it. I would enjoy the Xbox 360, but sadly, cannot afford it. I’m quite content with my PC though. My views on the PC gaming industry is that its slowly dying, even though its my favorite platform, I have to say it. Microsoft hasn’t done much to improve the platform they defined, until recently they announced that they are going to be opening a marketplace, somewhat like steam, but more than likely worse, seeing how they are the ones that are responsible for Games for Windows Live.

I am a part of a quite enjoyable community called “World Gamers Online”, it is a mature 18 and over community, due to my maturity I am able to be a part of it, and considering I am close to 18, they are letting it slip. If you would like the website look at the bottom of this post. I have been with them for about a year, not quiet but its close enough that I can call it one. The community is enjoyable to say the least, the admins are outstanding and they wont think twice about offering a helping hand to any community member that needs it. One of them has bought me about 7 games now, I pretty much owe him my soul about now. I have been appointed admin in the community but sadly, I thought I was going to part directions and changed my mind the next day, so I have had it revoked, but I think that is a smart decision. Anyways, its a really good community with amazing admins, go take a look.

My other hobbies include, listening to music, and skateboarding but those are minuscule compared to gaming, and that’s why I am writing about my gaming experiences.

One thing that you should know about me is I seek to be a journalist and make what I am doing in this blog my job, it’s something I have been considering for a while, and I figure, well why not. It sounds amazing, the only thing I don’t like is that its hard to get into, but I can get over that curve, hell I play DOTA and League of Legends, so how hard can it be?

Well that’s it, hope you read it all, I split it into chunks for ease of reading, thanks for reading.

Micro-transactions. Well in Vindictus, I haven’t seen big advertisements on it other than on there main page. If you think the little box ruins the experience you sir are wrong, how else are they suppose to make money from a game they release with no fee.

Besides that, lets get into the gameplay. Vindictus is a action based RPG, how it works is you get a quest from a NPC in a shop, the shop is just a empty house, and the NPC’s are just drawn and show up on the left. You get in contact with the NPC’s and they will eventually give you a quest, and some of them even have multiple quests, generally bonus quests. Then you walk out to the docks, launch a boat and start the quest.

This is were we get into the action part of the game, the quest you’re starting is linked to a mission, which is linked to a battle. These battles are instanced, so you have a set group to go do them with. These instances are also peer-to-peer so if you chose a server that’s not near you, it doesn’t really matter because your not playing the main point of this game on there servers, its locally. The one example that pops up in my mind for instanced battles is Guild Wars, its how they did it where you explore the outside world with just you and a party, but in Vindictus is you explore a linear dungeon, its not open, its a straight path that gets you from one end to the other.

The classes aren’t all released yet but they got the core RPG classes in there. That includes: Mage, Tank, and a DPS. The DPS wields two swords and light armor, as to be expected. The tank is the usual except in female form. The mage is also a female, but that’s to be expected, from my perspective anyways. The next class to be released looks like an uber tank. He is massively built, and he has a big ass hammer. Look’s interesting to say the least.

Anyways I have been having a good experience with Vindictus, you should give it a try because it is probably going to be what your not expecting.

All of my WoW experiences.

So my WoW experience so far is going smoothly, I’ve noticed a lot of things while getting my rogue to 62 on Scilla. For starters, most people think that an MMO should come natural, and theirs not much to learn, but with WoW there is plenty of things to learn.

You can chose to study the lore, or you can just choose to understand and grasp the knowledge this game is full of, it works in multiple ways, you can learn how to play all the classes, and play them well, or you can just be a casual gamer who gets on just for fun. This game has a learning curve, not a big one, but it has one. If you walk into the game with no previous experience it’s not too overwhelming because as soon as you make a new character your greeted with the hint system, it shows you how to control your character and teaches you everything you need to know for that current content. One thing about this game that I would recommend though is, try to find a friend that plays it, if you can’t go to a city in the game and find a 80 that’s willing to friend you, because your going to need some advice when you start reaching the higher levels.

I have two characters in total:

Crookster, a level 62 combat rogue

BurntCookie, a level 13 fire mage.

The one thing I have to say about this game is its very enjoyable, the experience is hard to compare anything to, the endless amount of fun that can be found in this game is irreplaceable. So far I’ve learned the most about rogue’s but since the new patch I haven’t touched her, only for the simple fact that I will have to redo my entire talent tree and basically relearn what I’ve been learning up to 62. To some it sounds like it would be fun, but to me it sounds like work, I will eventually swallow my pride and do it, just not at the current moment.

I need to give credit were credit is due, my friend Rob convinced me to take the plunge, and I don’t regret it one bit. The only time I regret it is when I am laying in bed waiting to fall asleep I just start thinking about my character’s and what I am going to do next, that’s when I knew I was truly addicted to the giant in its genre.

That pretty much raps up this part of my experience, I have plenty more to write about so stay tuned. If you liked anything in this blog, or constructive criticism, please just post a comment, don’t be too rough though, this is my first article I have written for people to actually read.

First post.

Welcome to my personal gaming blog, this is were I will be posting all my gaming experiences as well as reviews.
